  1. Provides accurate bibliographic records and controls to facilitate access to all library resources.

  2. Catalogs and classifies all educational resources according to Anglo - American Cataloging Rules [AACR-2].

  3. Catalogs all the following resources:

  • books and monographs.

  • periodicals

  • theses

  • educational video recordings

  1. Classifies Arabic resources according to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC).

  2. Classifies foreign resources according to Library of Congress Classification (LCC), and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) for the medical science resources.

  3. Works to improve and build the electronic union catalogs with bibliographic control over resources by using the PAAET automation library system called HORIZON (PAC) & iPAC (Internet Public Access Catalog) .
